Gettysburg

Soaring over the face of the earth, birds bear witness to both the insignificant and the incomprehensible events of human history. Gettysburg commemorates the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863 between the Union and Confederate forces. The quilt is constructed from antique striped shirting, Civil War reproduction fabrics, vintage Grandmother's Flower Garden blocks, Civil War gutta percha mourning brooch, and vintage Crazy Quilt remnants, Appliquéd, hand and machine quilted.
