Hiroshima
Soaring over the face of the earth, birds bear witness to both the insignificant and the incomprehensible events of human history. The bird’s tail in Hiroshima is an appliquéd rendering of the Atomic Bomb Damage Map of Hiroshima after August 6, 1945. The 66” x 38” quilt is constructed from vintage Japanese silk kimono remnants.
